First two weeks at draft are sadly done and with only a few days left i think i can say for all of us interns we will definately miss it.
We have finally moved into our new premises due to the entire office moving around last week we were shipped around even being in a waiting room before our final destination.
We were all ready to move macs are packed and ready to make the huge long strenuous 20 paces down the passage....only to be told we are going to be relocated to what's known as the "shower room".....The name just says it all although on the contrary it doesnt have a shower, just the shower curtain...and a weird round yellowy brown mark on the carpet.. So now we have a new place to call home and although I started getting comfortable in the other room i actually prefer the shower room. Has a cool vibe to it. Our old room was quite cozy near all the essential points..toilets..kitchen..We are now however very close to another essential to any oober productive day.. the foosball table. We try have a game after lunch if we not to busy. I must say we getting rather good at it... and there is a competitive edge thats seems to come over us.
Getting down to the work because this to me is quite interesting. Before starting here I had quite a different take on how things would be run. I pictured very corporate, quite stern and rigid mind set. One that would be like, make a mistake and your dead type vibe. Draft just completely changed my view point. Here I was thinking everything will be cut throat hardcore campaigns and not alot of design and illustration work, but lucky for me I thought wrong. In fact they tend to rather use illustration quite a bit. Phew.. something I feel comfortable doing.
At the moment I am working on a web banner. At first when I saw the brand I was like um...ok this is "fun" but then they gave me the opportunity to do anything obviously in sticking with the branding to some degree, which is cool. The picture to the left is a combination of crops of different ideas for the banner that I designed. Another project involves 'Dream Team" - me and Carey, along with a copy writer. It's a campaign styled project and is proving to be quite fun.
Today was particularly enjoyable if only to see Ty Ty in a lemon suite. I actually cryed. What can I say one of the interns had to do it.... I must say that Ty makes an awesome lemon and if he ever had to choose what citrus fruit he would want to be ...lemon is definately the way to go...
Another day another tale, another foosball match and of course another job bag and the journey continues in the life and times at DraftFCB... Goodnight to all and to all a goodnight.
